Since the end result of my thesis project was going to be a part of our senior exhibition, I wanted to design something that belonged in an art gallery-like setting and that could appeal to everyone on some level. I chose to make a playful, educational installation about birds (because I love them) and courtship (because I figured everybody is interested in that).

I consumed 74 sheets of white Arches screen-printing paper (22" x 30") to make all 12 pairs of birds, their white backgrounds, the black, dimensional letters, and the information sections. All the colors and non-dimensional type were screen-printed. "Let's Get It On" by Marvin Gaye, "Come Fly With Me" by Frank Sinatra, "Make Love" by Daft Punk, and "At Last" by Etta James layered with real bird songs were playing in the background.

After 1,000 hours of research, sketching, experimenting, screen-printing, cutting, and gluing, this is what came out:
